Why would you do this?  Because his comments on tariffs, bombing Iran, etc. move the stock market up or down.  You can make tons of money if you know in advance which way that will go!  And Republicans do nothing.  Maybe their leaders are “in on it.”

Per Robert Reich today:  It’s big corporations and the billionaire class that are supporting Trump’s neo-fascism. They’ve sucked up to Trump for corporate welfare, giant tax cuts, tariff exemptions, antitrust acquiescence, and war contracts. They’ve given Trump hundreds of millions for his inauguration, his ballroom, his 250th birthday, his superPAC.

And:  Corporate Democrats — such as Haley Stevens, along with Rahm Emanuel, Chuck Schumer, and Hakeem Jeffries — aren’t up to the task because they won’t bite the corporate hands that feed them campaign money. They won’t criticize the billionaire class. They refuse to see how big money has corrupted America.

— His main point today is that the Dems need fighters, not corporate suckups.

Don’t hear much about population these days.  Consider:

In my lifetime, the world’s population has gone from (an estimated) 2.4B people, to 8.3B.

In another lifetime (80 years I’m using) it could be 28.6 B and one more, 98.7 billion.  Where are that many people going to live?  Get clean water and food?  Health care? While it is true that there are a lot of empty spaces on earth now, the natural resources are not spread out evenly.  I read that over a billion people right now do not have easy access to drinking water.  If the climate is heating up now, in large part due to energy footprints of all of us, what about when there are so many more of us?

Our cutbacks in USAID alone are predicted to cause the deaths of a million children.  That the kind of world we want to live in?

I don’t see why we can’t have a world-wide effort to stabilize the population.  Some businesses would suffer, and some religions are against birth control, but unless you really think we can colonize Mars, we need to do the greater good for the greater numbers of us, on the ONLY planet we or our children, will ever know.

I have read from legal experts, that the papers Tod Blanche signed about the Slush fund have no legal basis at all, and if he is confirmed, he could completely ignore them.  Isn’t Congress supposed to have control over ALL monies the government spends?
