From CBS News:  The nation’s two largest reservoirs — Lake Mead and Lake Powell on the Colorado River — have fallen to their lowest levels on record. It’s a moment of reckoning in the drought-stricken West as seven states can’t agree on how to share the rapidly shrinking water supply. – We had some restrictions here in Ca. years ago, and bound to again.  I wonder, if the amount of water on Earth is finite, and the population keeps increasing . . . isn’t this inevitable everywhere?

From MSNOW:  Trump administration’s deadly boat strikes fail to reduce cocaine trafficking in U.S.  and further:  The Trump administration’s deadly military strikes on alleged drug trafficking boats have not reduced the amount of cocaine entering the United States, but they’re prompting criminal organizations to develop new strategies and tactics and undermining traditional investigative methods, according to a previously unreported assessment by the Drug Enforcement Administration, a closed-door congressional briefing and interviews with current and former U.S. and foreign officials.  Maybe some cocaine is ok, otherwise, why did Trump pardon that Nicaraguan leader who was found guilty of smuggling 400 tons of the stuff here?

From the New Yorker mag:  Under a new proposal, Administration officials could deny government grants to any group or project on the ground that it didn’t fit the President’s agenda.  The proposal would put the “entire financial partnership between the federal government and the states under political control, without an act of Congress.”– Keep in mind that these are generally funds that Congress has authorized – and, as such, the president should have NO control over them!

Remember that Musk headed what was called the DOGE?  This:

The attacks on Dr. Fauci are reprehensible.  His work prior to the Covid19 pandemic was the main reason why we developed a vaccine so quickly.  If you are “anti-vaccine” you are “anti-science.”

But Trump has never won a defamation case in court, despite suing news organizations dozens of times over the past four decades. He has succeeded in wresting settlements from news and tech companies, especially since his complaints have been abetted by the threat of presidential power.  Well, hell, just calling reporters “stupid” or “piggy” isn’t nearly enough!!

Not pointed out is that the writer, Jefferson, owned slaves, as did many of our “Founding Fathers” and several presidents.

Voice of America has operated for decades as a government-funded broadcaster, spreading U.S. news to international audiences, of course, with a pro-America twist. Now Trump has gutted and silenced it. – I recall being at sea and tuning into the VOA, as well as Armed Forces Radio and the BBC – I liked the BBC because they had transmitters all over the world.  I used to carry a booklet that listed things like that with times and broadcast areas.  I had a small radio that had shortwave frequencies.  To mess with that is well, pure Trumpism.

No corruption here:  The Wall Street Journal reports that after receiving a gift of a massive ring covered in diamonds and other jewels, Donald Trump made an exception from his tariffs for the diamond industry.  I thought it had been decided that Trump cannot control tariffs?

Watched part of a segment on MSNOW about a report that Trump has fired, reassigned or pressured to quit, thousands of security experts, many in the FBI.  Conclusion?  The country is less safe.  Go Trumpers!!??  America First!!!

I know people who hate Dr. Fauci because he changed his outlook on the virus.

Fauci’s diaries show he changed his mind often. That’s what scientists are supposed to do.

Public health experts need to be allowed to admit when they’re wrong — and share with the public what they are learning.

That virus was new.  It took a while (actually not long at all) to assess it properly.
