Trump now wants an investigation into pollsters – his numbers keep getting worse, so you know it must be crooked.
…………………
The grift that keeps on grifting:
The company that supplied fuel to the discount gas stations praised by Donald Trump is being sued for allegedly stealing nearly $4m worth of gas.
Mansfield Oil Company of Gainesville sued KRSM and its president, Syed Kazmi, for allegedly picking up about 1.1m gallons of fuel from 21 May to 7 July, worth more than $3,998,000, and not paying for it.
And yet more: President Donald Trump appears to be milking his executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America for all it’s worth, with branded hats that sell for a hefty price.
Trump’s official store is now selling $55 “Lake America” hats in both red and blue. By the way, shipping is $10. Extra. C’mon, it’ll look great with your golden (colored) $400. Sneakers!

I get it why people don’t like Flock cameras – who wants to get a speeding ticket in the mail? But the traffic cams work – they slow drivers down, reduce the number of red-light runners, etc. Wait, would you rather pay the cost of hiring three policemen, maintaining a patrol car, etc. to do the same job? Why do you accept a pull over ticket but not one from a camera?

From The Atlantic: Students’ use of AI is teaching them to cut corners, disdain rules, and believe that integrity is for suckers and wimps. —this was in an article written by a college professor on how widespread AI cheating is now.

No surprise with this headline from MSNOW:
Trump administration deports Haitians, while giving South Africans more cash
……………….
Brain storm – how many fake AI images has Trump posted?
Himself as Jesus, healing the sick
Himself riding horses with George Washington
Himself helping George Washington climb Mt. Rushmore
Himself showing a shorter (Washington was 6’ 3”) Washington his golden ballroom.
Himself as a jet pilot, dumping poop on protestors.
Himself as Superman, with Xray vision
Himself with Dolly Parton, with her arm in his at the White House.
Himself as the Capt. of a large, new type of battleship.
Himself next to JFK
And there’s more, a lot with him and his “angry face.”

I wrote this some time ago, but it still seems topical:
While I understand that the military, let’s say the army, has to have recruitment drives, since we don’t have a draft, their tactics are often disturbing. A recent report listed part of their handbook, in which, in part, it advises recruiters to stay away from high schools in wealthy neighborhoods, and concentrate on the poorer ones. What the hell does that tell you? That joining the Army is as much of a jobs program, or a college-tuition program, as it is a patriotic endeavor? When the percentage of minorities in the military is twice as high as it is in society, does not that tell you something?

From ABCNews: WASHINGTON — A plan by the Environmental Protection Agency could make it harder for the public to learn about and comment on proposed AI data centers that have sparked backlash in communities across the United States and transformed the midterm election landscape. . . . The EPA “has already turned its back on science, cut enforcement against industrial polluters and eliminated life-saving air pollution measures,” he said. “Now it wants to shut the public out of decisions to build or expand facilities that expose communities to dangerous air pollution, including data centers.”

Thursday: Don’t forget, kids, today you can order your Trump one-dollar, gold-colored, souvenir coins! You’ll pay a bit more than the one dollar they are worth, but what the heck! Doncha want to add that to your collection of Trump memorabilia?

The Interior Sec. says that work on Trump’s arch will start soon, with 20-hour work days. This is, of course, an insult to those buried at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as an eyesore to see from the Lincoln Memorial. What’s next? Maybe bulldoze the White House and put up a Trump Tower? Or, paint the White House gold (fake, of course, like Trump) and call it the Gold House?

Finally? An ICE agent was charged in connection with a shooting of a civilian. He is black. A sop to the masses, maybe?

…………………….
Things that still make me angry/sad/etc.:
Gun manufacturers making rifles and shotguns for kids (to fit their shorter arms). And, yes, they do this.
Selling guns to anybody and then expecting no one to use them.
Believing anything Trumpy says.
Making an hourly wage and voting Republican.
Not understanding how the Dodgers are ruining baseball.
Thinking that home schooling will prepare your kids for life in the world.
Saying that we have the best health care in the world.
Maintaining that all abstract art has meaning.

It is getting more difficult to “see” and prevent an “auto renewal” subscription type payment for things. I have been caught a couple of times now. The sites were ones I like, but I did not intend to renew monthly, or in one case, for another year. Beware! One news site, one of many now charging for access, advertises that it is $8.99/month: or $49.99/a year. Yearly is a better deal, although you get locked in for a year, but the fine print says with that, “Auto renews at $89.99 a year!” Think you will remember when the year is up?

Another article about how great Frank Lloyd Wright was. Nonsense. His first famous house was called Fallingbrook, as he built it over a brook. Beautiful. Then it started to collapse. Admirers had to raise about $10 million to save it. A failure, to me. The first job of an architect is to design something that will be structurally sound!

After playing in high school marching bands military style, and my military academy band, I still think The Stars and Stripes Forever would be a better, more inspiring tune for a National Anthem, instead of the poem set to music that we have now. By the way, it is our official National March – thank you John Phillip Sousa.

The world is starting to look different — literally. The United Nations General Assembly voted to adopt a new map that reflects countries’ true relative sizes, after African nations urged the UN to right a centuries-old wrong. Only the US voted against it. – We voted against Africa appearing more in its correct size on maps . . . because??? Well, Kev, it is Africa, dummy, get it?
………………..
All for now. 9-11 anniversary this week. Maybe we should remember who got Bin Laden, and who said “I don’t know where he is . . . I don’t spend much time on it.”
